Project Description
The transit center is an intermodal facility developed by the City of Vallejo and is ran by the newly formed SolTrans transit service. The transit center is at the heart of a “transit Village” vision connecting Solano residents to San Francisco Bay Area and Sacramento. The center incorporates a 12-bay bus shelter, public parking and an administration building. The VVH Consulting Engineers surveying group provided the topographic surveying, boundary surveying and utility surveys for the project design team. The survey was completed by utilizing GPS and conventional surveying methods. The boundary survey posed its challenges as the property was comprised of several parcels created from maps dating to the 1870’s with little or no perpetuated monuments. A wide area search was performed to locate all existing monuments in the vicinity of the project to develop the projects legal boundaries. The property also included right-of-ways for old roads that were no longer in use and had to be abandoned prior to re-development.
The services provided by VVH Consulting Engineers included:
- Topographic Surveys and Mapping
- Right-of-Way Plans
